# China's Official 2026 Holiday Schedule # China's Official 2026 Holiday Schedule {{< image src="/pictures/note/2026-holidays-schedule.svg" alt="2026 holiday schedule" caption="Illustration of the 2026 holiday arrangements - officially released by the State Council General Office" >}} --- # Notice of the General Office of the State Council on the Arrangements for Certain Holidays in 2026 State Council Telegram [2025] No. 7 To the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and to the ministries and commissions and agencies directly under the State Council: With the approval of the State Council, the specific arrangements for the holidays and swapped workdays for New Year's Day, the Spring Festival, the Qingming Festival, Labor Day, the Dragon Boat Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day in 2026 are hereby notified as follows: --- ## I. New Year's Day Holidays with swapped workdays from January 1 (Thursday) to January 3 (Saturday), 3 days in total. January 4 (Sunday) is a workday. ## II. Spring Festival Holidays with swapped workdays from February 15 (the 28th day of the 12th lunar month, Sunday) to February 23 (the 7th day of the first lunar month, Monday), 9 days in total. February 14 (Saturday) and February 28 (Saturday) are workdays. ## III. Qingming Festival Holidays from April 4 (Saturday) to April 6 (Monday), 3 days in total. ## IV. Labor Day Holidays with swapped workdays from May 1 (Friday) to May 5 (Tuesday), 5 days in total. May 9 (Saturday) is a workday. ## V. Dragon Boat Festival Holidays from June 19 (Friday) to June 21 (Sunday), 3 days in total. ## VI. Mid-Autumn Festival Holidays from September 25 (Friday) to September 27 (Sunday), 3 days in total. ## VII. National Day Holidays with swapped workdays from October 1 (Thursday) to October 7 (Wednesday), 7 days in total. September 20 (Sunday) and October 10 (Saturday) are workdays. --- Employers and individuals are encouraged to make use of paid annual leave and other such arrangements to create longer holidays in practice and stagger travel peaks.
